He passed away in 2015.
He was a superintendent in charge of the Hillside Boys Home, a state-run orphanage in Jells Road, Glen Waverley, between 1959 and 1985.
He was convicted of child sexual abuse offences in 2014 for abuse of children between 1966 and 1969. The children he sexually abused were in his care at Hillside.
