Mackey was employed by Geelong Grammar School as the school’s live in doctor from around 1964 until 1993.
Mackey was known to demand female students who came to him for medical care remove all their clothing to be examined – an incredibly unsettling and traumatic experience for teenage girls.
He was involved in criminal proceedings in relation to more than 30 charges of indecent assault against former students from the 1960s to 1980s, but died in 2020 before sentencing.
Mackey was one of several prolific offenders at Geelong Grammar School during the period, including Graham Dennis and Johnathan Harvey.
