Horsham Technical School is one of five Wimmera schools that were among the 403 Victorian government schools named in civil compensation claims or redress applications in relation to historic child sex abuse.
The four other school were:
- Dimboola Memorial High School
- Dimboola Primary School
- Stawell High School
- Murtoa Secondary College.
Rightside Legal has successfully represented more than half a dozen clients who were abused by Reginald ‘Adrian’ Crick at Horsham Tech in the 1960s to 1980s.
Crick was employed as a music teacher at the school, and for much of his time there he was also in charge of the school’s army cadet program.
In 1996, Crick was charged with 94 counts of sexual offending against 18 boys, most of whom came from the Horsham area.
Crick took his own life weeks before he was due to appear in Court in relation to the charges.

At Rightside we don’t have a string of expensive offices, dozens of partners or expensive marketing campaigns to fund. We limit the number of cases we take on, prepare your claim properly and fight hard for 100% of what your claim is worth.
We understand that our clients are often anxious and uncertain about the whole legal process. We’ll do our best to eliminate the uncertainties. We work on a No Win No Fee basis – that means we fund the litigation, and you only pay when we succeed. We also cap our fees to give our clients greater certainty.
