In 2019 Watson was sentenced to more than 15 years behind bars for sexually abusing six boys between 1974 and 1985, including at Trinity Grammar School and Wesley College.
Watson began sexually abusing boys when he was working as boarding house master at Trinity while studying to be a teacher. He also abused boys in his own home.
It is understood Watson was only at Trinity Grammar for one year in the mid-1970s. But he went on to teach at Wesley College.
