Father Terence Melville Pidoto was a Catholic Priest in the Diocese of Melbourne.
Born on 12 December 1944, and ordained in May 1971, he served in a number of parishes including:
- Donald
- Burwood
- North Balwyn
- Kilmore
- Box Hill North
- Clifton Hill
- Heidelberg
- Croydon
- Yea.
He served as chaplain at Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital for 2 months in 1971 and 1972, and was chaplain at Assumption College, Kilmore from 1975 to 1978, where he sexually abused many male students under the guise of providing sports massage.
He also abused boys in a number of the other parishes he worked.
Pidoto was placed on administrative leave on 10 June 1997. He was convicted of offences against a 15-year-old boy in 2000, but his conviction was overturned on appeal on technical grounds.
In 2007, he was convicted of 22 offences of child abuse related to 4 different victim-survivors and sentenced to 7-year imprisonment. In 2013 he was charged with 30 more offences relating to 9 children, but he died in November 2015 before the case got to trial.
