Tilly Barber

I began my legal career working in family law, criminal law and debt recovery before moving into asbestos litigation and workers’ compensation. Over the past 17 years, I’ve worked almost exclusively in asbestos litigation and, more recently, childhood sexual abuse civil claims. Before joining Rightside Legal in 2016, I spent seven years with Slater & Gordon’s asbestos litigation team.

Since joining Rightside, I’ve worked on matters from their earliest stages through to resolution, gaining experience across every part of the litigation process. In recent years, I’ve developed a particular focus on settlements and client accounting, where I enjoy helping ensure matters are resolved smoothly and efficiently so people can move forward with certainty.

What I enjoy most about this work is knowing that, even in a small way, I can help make a difficult time a little easier for the people we act for. Legal proceedings can be overwhelming, particularly for those dealing with serious illness or the lasting effects of childhood abuse. I believe that clear communication, attention to detail and a practical approach can make a real difference to someone’s experience of the process.

I take pride in being organised, approachable and reliable, and I enjoy working as part of a team committed to achieving the best possible outcomes while treating every person with respect and compassion.
