Rightside Legal has successfully represented clients who were abused by Robert (Smiley) Burnett.
Born in 1939, Burnett worked at The Salvation Army’s Bayswater Boys Home and Jacana Children’s Home in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
Burnett was a live-in youth worker at Bayswater Boys Home who sexually abused residents in his care. He also took boys to his family home in Gippsland on weekends, or on local camping trips, where he sexually abused them.
The boys ranged in age from 7 to 13.
Burnett served almost twenty years in jail for his abuse of children.
We believe there are many people who were abused as children by Robert Burnett who have never been compensated for their distress and trauma.

Capped Pricing.
At Rightside we don’t have a string of expensive offices, dozens of partners or expensive marketing campaigns to fund. We limit the number of cases we take on, prepare your claim properly and fight hard for 100% of what your claim is worth.
We understand that our clients are often anxious and uncertain about the whole legal process. We’ll do our best to eliminate the uncertainties. We work on a No Win No Fee basis – that means we fund the litigation, and you only pay when we succeed. We also cap our fees to give our clients greater certainty.
