Born 30 March 1943, Christopher John Howell was a teacher at Trinity Grammar School for over 40 years, commencing in 1966 and retiring in December 2009.

He was senior science teacher and Assistant Headmaster.

He also led Trinity’s ‘Bushwalking Club’, taking many boys on overnight hikes.

He was charged with sexual abuse related crimes, but took his own life in January 2016 only days before he was to go before a court in relation to those charges.

There have been multiple allegations of sexual abuse perpetrated on his students during the 1970s through to the 1990s.
