John Skehan, also known as Brother Emilian and Brother John, was born in 1939.

He was a Marist Brother and teacher.

In 1970, he sexually abused a 13-year old student at St Colman’s College in Shepparton, then run by the Marist Brothers. Nothing was done until the victim came forward as an adult and reported Skehan to police, which led to Skehan pleading guilty in 2014.

In addition to other sexual abuse Skehan perpetuated at that school, Skehan has also been convicted in 2010 for indecently assaulting a child in Broken Hill in the 1970s. Skehan was given a suspended jail sentence for this offending.
